Physician - Anesthesiologist: Critical Care
Anesthesiologist
The Department of Anesthesiology at The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a full-time Anesthesiology faculty member to join its rapidly growing team of anesthesiologists, resident physicians, and CRNAs, who work collaboratively to support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care, as well as satisfying teaching and academic responsibilities in a fast-paced and diverse clinical practice.
The candidate should be ABA-certified or equivalent and eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
About the Position:
- General mix of cases, including high acuity trauma, regional anesthesia, endoscopy, ortho, vascular, OB, pediatric, and NORA.
- Preferred skills: regional blocks and epidurals.
- Consistent anesthesia care team comprised of 64 anesthesiologists and 130 CRNAs.
- Pleasant mix of both medical direction and solo cases.
- Call: ~15 per year with CRNA at night.
- Post-call day off.

- KU Medical Center - 39th and Rainbow - 1045 beds, level 1 trauma center
- 40 ORs
- GI/endoscopy: 6 rooms
- L&D
- Plus multiple cases run in EP lab, Cath lab and NORA sites
- KU-Olathe Medical Center -300 beds, community hospital
- 13 ORs
- 6 Outpatient ORs
- L&D
- Plus multiple cases run in EP lab, Cath lab and NORA sites
- KU-Indian Creek Hospital – I-435 and Nall, Overland Park
- 8 ORs
- Ambulatory Surgery Centers
- 3 Kansas locations
- 11ASC ORs (adding 10 more ASC ORs early summer 2024)
- 4 Procedure rooms (Endoscopy and Pain)
