Position Summary / Career Interest:
Analyzes and reviews interface specifications from vendors and 3rd party companies as directed. Working with senior team member, conducts analysis, design, and development activities related to the creation and maintenance of HL7 real-time and conversion interface. Participates in testing efforts. Develops and maintains functional and technical documentation/specifications. Reviews and tests interfaces with each upgrade/release. Working with supervisor or senior team member, develops schedule to meet project deadline.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- "Analyzes and reviews interface specifications from the vendor and 3rd party companies as directed by your supervisor.
- Work with a senior team member to conduct analysis, design, and development activities related to the creation and maintenance of HL7 real-time and conversion interface
- Build and maintain mapping tables with supervision from a senior team member
- Participate in testing efforts: test planning, processing/tracing messages, researching errors and conducting root cause analysis to identify corrective actions
- Develop and maintain functional and technical documentation/specifications
- Prioritize, document and implement requested interface changes
- Adhere to organizational Systems Change Control policies and procedures
- Participate in defining, developing and documenting internal procedures
- Build a working knowledge of technology trends including HL7, Epic software, and participate in system upgrades and testing
- Participate in training activities to maintain technical currency/certification and to broaden product knowledge. Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of assigned applications and duties
- Participate in department quality and process improvement
- Participate in Change Control, Upgrade Planning, Downtime Planning, and Go-Live Planning committees
- Conduct review and testing of interfaces with each upgrade/release. Provides assistance in creating testing plans to ensure that the software performs error and bug free through all phases of testing as determined by the System and vendor
- Understand project deliverables, key milestones and work with your supervisor or designee to plan a schedule to meet project deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams and facilitate interface design sessions
- Ability to monitor and reconcile interface error logs; conduct root cause analysis and edit/modify/correct HL7 messages through the use of interface utility tools
- On-Call rotation for supporting hospital interfaces on a 24/7 basis
- Contributes to the Education Mission of the organization by providing various in-service education, classes, and seminars related to Information Systems and Technology"
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology Informatics, or L.S. or 4 years of IT experience
- High School Graduate
Preferred Education and Experience
- JAVA, UTP, Unix Commands, or EPIC experience
- Experience in working with a healthcare software vendor
- Corepoint or similar interface engine experience
- EPIC or similar EMR experience a plus.
- moveIT or similar scheduled FTP program experience
Required Licensure and Certification
- Bridges certification and Corepoint Level 1 (if employee does not have will be expected to obtain during first year of employment).
